Quality Inspection
Category: Quality
Definition (plain English)
A structured check of goods, packaging, labels, quantities, workmanship, and agreed specifications before shipment, receipt, or customer release.
Why it matters commercially
Inspection timing decides whether defects are caught while the supplier can still correct them or after freight, duty, storage, and customer commitments are already at risk.
Example
Before releasing the supplier balance, the buyer required a pre-shipment inspection covering carton marks, label language, pack count, seal quality, and sample photos.
Common mistake
Ordering an inspection without clear specs, defect classes, sampling plan, photo evidence, and a stop/go owner.
