CE Mark
Category: Compliance
Also searched as: CE Mark
Definition (plain English)
A manufacturer declaration that a product meets applicable EU safety, health, environmental, or performance legislation and is backed by the required conformity file.
Why it matters commercially
A weak CE claim can stop import, block sales, trigger recalls, or leave the importer responsible for missing technical documentation.
Example
Before buying electrical goods, the importer checked the declaration of conformity, applicable directives, test reports, model numbers, label artwork, and EU responsible party.
Common mistake
Accepting a CE logo on packaging without matching it to a valid declaration, product model, standard list, and technical documentation.
